Dental Hygienists for Santa Fe

Contract to begin approximately 5/1/2025
1 Base Year and 4 Option Years

Day Shifts - M-F 7:30AM to 4:30PM or 7:30AM to 5PM

Must have a degree or diploma from professional hygiene program, must have a registered license, must have at least 2 years experience, BLS, PALS

The contractor will provide Dental Hygienist Services to the Santa Fe Indian Health Center, and will be required  to  provide services as needed to Two (2) Satellite Clinics – Santa Clara Health Center Dental and Cochiti Health  Clinic Dental to include the following:  
  • Perform clinical dental hygiene treatment, including child and adult prophylaxis, periodontal debridement, scaling/root planning procedures and administers topical/local anesthesia when needed.  
  • Perform oral healthcare evaluations and risk assessments on new and recall patients, including vitals, reviewing patient medical and dental health history, radiographic images, dental charting, caries risk assessment and periodontal screening and exams.  
  • Use the electronic dental record (Dentrix) for documentation and dental hygiene treatment planning.    
  • Takes radiographic images and interprets information to assist the dentist with treatment planning.  
  • Provide oral health education and oral hygiene instruction to improve and maintain the oral health of patients. This includes education on dental caries, periodontal disease, tobacco cessation, nutritional counseling, and oral health information on the systemic effect of oral disease.  
  • Provide preventive services, including sealants, fluoride application, desensitizing agents and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay. 
  • Performs proper chairside infection control and the disinfection and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment.  
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining a periodontal patient recall system. 5.1.9 Assists in researching current dental literature and regularly attends health center and dental staff meetings to make improvements in the oral hygiene program.
